Tanuki Sushi and Grill is known for the sushi-zza box. My friends and I were excited to try their creative rolls and presentation. We ordered for pickup which worked out great but the restaurant is extremely small. The order was ready when they said it would be and we were off to try the rolls. With the sushi-zza box you can order 6-8 rolls. One thing that was a little frustrating was the sushi does stick to the box and it caused the rolls to fall apart but they were still very tasty. What we ordered: Atlantic Monkey Climax Avenger Pearl of the East Hokkaido Crazy Sex on the North Beach Pearl of the East and Atlantic monkey were my favorite! Though the Sex on the Beach was intriguing it was not something I would order again.

Ordered the sushi box and it was so much food! We got enough rolls for 4 people and perfect! The sushi rolls aren't the best I've ever had but it was really good for take out sushi! I also loved the communication from the restaurant when the food was ready

I went solely for the sushi pizza box. This place did nothing but exceed my expectations. All of the rolls were amazing. I was assisted by staff in choosing what rolls would have the kinda of fish I wanted. I was lucky enough to grab the sushi box to go and eat before sunset. Perfect little dinner date option...

This is the first time I've done the to go sushi pizza box and it was perfect to bring to the lake! The online ordering was so easy- you could select 6 to 8 rolls all different prices and types and then what really was amazing was you get a free item if you spend $20, $40 and $60!! We got a free huge bowl of chicken fried rice that was so delicious! Everything was reasonably priced.

Great sushi. I've had better sushi in Chicago (for the same price, which is why I'm giving it a 4/5). Staff is always very friendly, great neighborhood spot in lakeview. Outdoor seating is nice and BYOB is +

[Tanuki Sushi & Grill] The acclaimed Japanese restaurant that has the Sushi-zza box located around Lakeview East neighborhood. Sushi rolls: Fire Dragon Sex on the North Beach Super sweet potato Inferno Twin tower Sushi was amazing!!! A bit on the pricier side but my favorite was the Inferno (has octopus). I was a bit disappointed that it didn't come in the famous Sushi-zza box. I found out later that apparently you have to order 6 rolls for it to come in that. Oh whale. Can't speak on service since I ordered online. Overall, 7/10

Food: very flavorful and unique rolls! Service: I have eaten in house several times, very friendly for gathering, dates or even solo lunch. This is a takeout and they give you discount/ free items. Ambience, BYOB

We wanted to try the viral "sushi-zza" box so we ordered it for takeout the other night and it did not disappoint! (Note: it's only available for pickup or delivery) Ordering online was pretty easy. We ordered 6 individual rolls to share amongst two people and we needed two separate web pages to refer to so we knew what was in reach roll - it doesn't have descriptions when ordering that actual box. The names were creative and fun but you need that extra reference to know what you're getting. They're fantastic at accommodating any allergies! It took about 30 mins for our order to be ready. The restaurant is small and cozy and was packed on a Friday night. In addition to the box, we ordered crab rangoons and gyoza, which I was too excited to eat and forgot to photograph. Everything was delicious! The unique rolls were delicious and different from what we've ever had before. We got 2 Philly rolls, the Skunk, the Poseidon, the Fire Dragon roll, and the Volcano roll. I couldn't choose a favorite but the Poseidon was unlike anything I've ever eaten. You can't go wrong with what you choose but give this place a try! I can't wait to go back.
